- ENGINEERING PRACTICES LABORATORY
The workshop practical is intended to impart basic knowledge of various hand tools and their usage in different sections of manufacturing. They include Carpentry, Fitting, Tin smithy, Plumbing, Drilling and Turning. This practical knowledge serves as a foundation to the students when they do other practical. Just as we say catch them young , to mould a person this practical training not only makes them familiar with the basic tools and equipment of engineering industry but also instills on them confidence to face practical problems.
- THERMAL ENGINEERING LABORATORY
Thermal engineering is a branch of science that covers energy conversion from one form to another. The field of thermal engineering includes a lot of applications that can be classified as the combination of thermodynamics and heat transfer, such as IC engines, air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The objective of this laboratory is to provide the student a good environment to understand very important concepts and applications of thermodynamic Principles in the field of IC engines and refrigeration and power generation. This lab is equipped with Petrol, Diesel engines, Air conditioning, and Refrigeration test rigs and steam power plant etc.
- STRENGTH OF MATERIALS LABORATORY
The objective of the strength of materials lab is to demonstrate the basic principles in the area of strength and mechanics of materials and structural analysis to the undergraduate students through a series of experiments. Tests such as the tension tests of a steel specimen, torsion of model circular sections and bending of a steel bar are conducted in the lab. Model truss and frames are also employed to illustrate the theory in structural analysis and the basic plastic theory of bending. The students are also introduced to the data acquisition system (Strain gauges and dial gauges etc) used in experimental study.
- COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN LABORATORY
CAD Lab of this department was established for concept design and product realization. This lab is to primarily facilitate students to evolve concepts and convert it into a complete product. The process of design and simulation takes place in a digitally integrated environment. The facility has been designed and structured to take care of professional certification programs for students.
- MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY LABORATORY
Manufacturing Technology Laboratory in the department of mechanical engineering is established in the year of 2010. The laboratory ambience is well equipped with different variety of center lathes, capstan and turret lathes, shaping machines, milling machines, gear gobbing machine, planer, and slotter, grinding machines, drilling machines, injection moulding machine, tool dynamometer and tool maker’s microscope. The purpose of this laboratory is to provide the students with the fundamental understanding of metal cutting theory, machining operations and working principle of various machine tools to suit current need of manufacturing industries. The laboratory facilitates the students to acquire hands-on experience in machine tools for various machining as well as manufacturing operations.
- FLUID MECHANICS AND MACHINERY LABORATORY
A basic knowledge of Fluid mechanics and machinery is essential for all the scientists and engineers because they frequently come across a variety of problems involving flow of fluids such as in aerodynamics, Force of fluid on structural surfaces, fluid transport. The range of experiments provided covers the complete field of the “Fundamentals of Fluid Mechanics for Engineering”.
- KINEMATICS AND DYNAMICS LABORATORY
The kinematics and Dynamics lab for third year mechanical students is equipped with advanced equipments to assess the performance of CAM analysis apparatus, governors, gyroscopic couple, critical speed of shaft, dynamic balancing machine, Measurement of frequency (Damped and Undamped, Free and Forced), Determination of Moment of Inertia of connecting rod and fly wheel by Oscillation method. All the equipments are fixed over the high reinforced concrete structure with more space between them to ensure the better working atmosphere.
